Six performances in six days Celebrate in May at the Capri

In celebration of its rich history and bright future on Minneapolis’ Northside, the Capri Theater presents six days of performances May 7-12 — just before doors close and construction begins on the theater’s 20,000 square foot expansion and renovation. All events take place at the Capri, 2027 West Broadway. Admission information for each event is listed below and at thecapritheater.org.

7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7

The Capri Glee! Adult Community Choir presents a joyous, inspiring, raise-the-roof concert under the direction of J.D. Steele. Free.

7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8

CAST (Capri After School Theater) presents an evening of drama, poetry, music and more, featuring PYC Arts & Technology High School students under the direction of Kevin D. West. Free.

7 p.m. Thursday, May 9

First Thursday Films @ the Capri (on the second Thursday of May), movie to be announced. $5. Tickets in advance at mspfilm.org or at the door.

7 p.m. Friday, May 10

SPCO Chamber Music Series @ the Capri presents Modern Renaissance, featuring SPCO musicians as composers and arrangers. Reserve free tickets at thecapritheater.org.

7 p.m. Saturday, May 11, and 3 p.m. Sunday, May 12

Legends @ the Capri presents Moore by 4, featuring Dennis Spears, Sanford Moore, Ginger Commodore, Connie Evingson and Yolande Bruce in a showstopper of a grand finale concert, the last to be performed in the Capri “as is.” $25/$20 for groups of 10 or more at capriticketworks.org or 612-343-3390.
